Passion du Lait® Amont seminar
30.10.2025
A unifying event centred around Passion du Lait®
In autumn, Laïta’s Amont (upstream) teams from three shareholder cooperatives (Even, Terrena, and Eureden) met with others from the two producer organisations LNA and SILAV for discussions around the main topic - the Passion du Lait® CSR initiative.
Building priority areas together
The seminar was the first of its kind and was attended by around 60 participants, including elected farmer representatives, Laïta staff and Amont teams. A powerful occasion for sharing which provided an opportunity to take stock of actions carried out in recent years, both upstream and downstream, to review the work in progress and to engage stakeholders collectively in the new cycle ahead. It was also an opportunity to demonstrate the tools that will be available to field technicians from 2026.
Passion du Lait® Amont is a joint initiative devised by upstream teams and is structured around a number of themes, each associated with specific progress targets. This seminar was an opportunity to examine in detail the major developments of the initiative, which are now organised around three priority areas: carbon, animal welfare and animal feed.
L’ambition carbone au service de la durabilité
The next cycle will incorporate carbon thresholds (scopes 1, 2, and 3), which will trigger associated Passion du Lait® bonuses. In practice, the amount of the bonus will depend on the result of the individual farm’s carbon assessment and the aim of their action plan to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. This development is part of a strategy for continuous improvement that meets society’s expectations and illustrates a shared commitment: to reward producers who actively reduce their carbon footprint while ensuring the sustainability of their farms.
The meeting ended with a collective intelligence workshop involving farmers and technicians in partnership with Idèle, a carbon industry specialist. Lively, informative discussions took place focusing on ways of decarbonising dairy farming. A fitting way to close this first seminar, bringing Passion du Lait® to life - more than just a strategy, it’s a shared vision, a catalyst for change and a source of pride in working together to build a sustainable, innovative, united dairy sector!
