Every employee is different

"TOP visits (Tous en Observation Préventive - Everyone for Preventive Observation) are valuable opportunities for discussing safety issues.

We monitor staff in their working environment as closely as we can in order to inform ourselves, highlight positive aspects and suggest any immediate adjustments that can be made. Forms for requesting improvements are also available to staff. The procedure involves about 10 visits per year, during which we meet 100% of the employees.

A lot of effort has been made on both sides to gradually establish the correct conduct and good reflexes in terms of prevention and safety. For example, in our first year of TOP in the grated cheese packaging unit we focused on movements and posture, bearing in mind some simple instructions - bend your knees when picking up bags that have fallen on the floor, store pallet trucks under pallets when they're not in use to prevent them falling over, always wear cut-resistant gloves when using a cutter, etc. 

Following on from this visit, we also stressed the importance of protecting machinery to avoid knee impacts.
