Our well-being policy
Well-being is our watchword. Laïta is actively committed to the welfare of all - employees, customers, farmers and suppliers alike
Well-being at Laïta
Protecting and supporting our employees
Our commitment to improving the well-being of our employees includes developing our human capital and safeguarding their health and safety, social dialogue and ethics. A commitment that translates into shared goals:
• Rolling out the new Laïta management culture framework to all managers and training all new supervisors.
• Drawing up an internal mobility policy to promote upskilling and career progression within the organisation.
• Achieving a workplace injury frequency rate of 10 and a severity rate of 0.7 by 2030.
• Trialling a range of services to promote a good work-life balance among employees.
• Exceeding regulatory requirements by establishing community-based social dialogue committees that meet quarterly.
• Aiming for an annual gender equality index of over 80.
Understanding and retaining customers and consumers
We are aware of the challenges of food safety and strive to meet the expectations of customers and consumers regarding the quality of our raw materials and the transparency of our finished products.
• Encouraging grazing and keeping pastureland open for an average of over 180 days per year.
• Keeping our six industrial sites at a rating of A or B on Alim'Confiance, a French government site for food safety transparency audit.
• Developing Laïta's nutrition commitments for consumer products, dairy ingredients and health food products.
• Working with consumers to establish the types of company information they would like to see on Paysan Breton products.
• Carrying out a customer satisfaction survey at least every 3 years.
• Developing Paysan Breton communities, through consumer representative networks in particular.
Engaging with farmers and suppliers
Promoting the work that livestock farmers do and the long-term durability of their profession impacts on us in terms of milk collections, remuneration and investments, and is part of our raison d’être. We are also committed to establishing a responsible purchasing process.
• Safeguarding and improving farmers' incomes by providing more visibility around changes to the product mix and how milk prices are set.
• Exploiting market opportunities to create additional sources of income for farmers by targeting different types of milk (organic, GMO-free, grass-fed, Label Rouge, etc.).
• Operating an investment policy of at least €40 million per year to maintain a sustainable milk processing potential.
• Identifying major causes that Paysan Breton could support, which would involve livestock farmers and be of interest to consumers.
• Providing help and support to young farmers who are starting out, which will help to secure the long-term future of livestock farming in the Great West region of France.
• Establishing a responsible purchasing policy with our suppliers.
