Guaranteeing food safety

Food safety relies on recognised, certified management systems: ISO 9001, IFS, BRC, FSSC 22 000, etc. All our production sites are certified by these exacting standards, which guarantee that the highest international standards for food safety are applied.

The key to industrial performance

In an agri-food sector which is both highly competitive and closely monitored, it is imperative to constantly improve product quality. Recourse to an in-house analytical laboratory provides leverage for performance, enabling rapid, reliable results that can be used directly by our teams on the ground.

Our analytical laboratories at Créhen and Ancenis have been awarded Cofrac accreditation in accordance with the international standard ISO 17 025, which guarantees the impartiality of results for our customers.

State-of-the-art equipment

Our teams use latest-generation analytical technology to guarantee food quality and safety. State-of-the-art instruments such as the MALDI-TOF, the RMN, the D-Count and advanced analytical techniques enable rapid, precise, reliable testing, supporting consistently controlled quality.

Rigorous controls and total transparency

Laïta is committed to maintaining its industrial sites to an excellent standard, with an A or B rating on the Alim‘Confiance scale - the French government site which monitors the transparency of food safety audits.

The entire production process is traced and controlled with the utmost rigour, from the moment the raw materials are received and through every stage of production until the finished products are packaged and despatched. Taking all the Laïta facilities into account, this means that almost 2.45 million analyses are carried out in-house every year to guarantee the safety, quality and consistency of our products at every stage of production.

Sharing the quality culture

The ‘food safety’ culture is a collective regulatory requirement shared by all employees. Dedicated training is provided to all new recruits - from operational staff up to senior management - as soon as they start work; everyone must embrace the principles of safety and quality in their daily work activities.

Quality teams at all levels of the organisation are implementing definitive action plans to reinforce this shared awareness. In recent years, many localised initiatives have been adopted:

  • behavioural assessments at the Ancenis butter facility
  • creation of the quality TOPs in Créhen
  • the escape game for traceability at Yffiniac
  • the introduction of indicators linked to the 5 cornerstones of quality culture at the Landerneau and Ploudaniel sites.
