Commitment
Combating food waste
The objective of our anti-food-waste approach is to eliminate the destruction of consumable products by using anything that can be put to use; an approach that applies equally to better production and storage optimisation and providing better information for consumers.
Adding value to unsold products
As part of our anti-food-waste strategy, we have signed agreements with a number of national charity organisations: Les Restos du Cœur, la Banque Alimentaire, le Secours Populaire, etc.
Our dedicated anti-food-waste team collects all the products we have been unable to sell but are still edible, and sends them for recycling by a wholesale network or donates them to various associations.
Targeting zero destruction
We are also considering other solutions we could introduce to help eliminate food waste and the destruction of consumable products. In this regard, we have set up a diagnostic tool to assess our practices, targeting zero destruction of edible food.
Reducing waste
Our Paysan Breton brand has joined forces with the “Too Good to Go” movement, which offers unsold products at reduced prices via an app.
As part of this pledge, we explain to consumers the difference between the ‘Use by’ date and the ‘Best before’ date, and assist with distribution of the products to prevent waste.
